Children Loving in Deed and Truth

Each year our entire family takes a vacation together.  Yep, two grandparents, 6 adults and 5 grandchildren.   We have a blast.

Each year the grandchildren look forward to exploring and using the "Mimi" basket.  Linda puts together a basket of arts and crafts supplies and activities.  It is always a hit.

About four years ago the kids used the Mimi basket goodies to create items for a store.  You can guess who got to shop in the store.  At the end of the week we asked what was to become of the money they had earned.  I was pleasantly surprised by the answer.  I expected the money would be divided amongst them.  Not so.  Instead they, unprompted, decided to give the money to an animal shelter.

Each year since they have designated that money from the store go to a charity. One grandchild gets to choose the charity each year.  This year the money will go a nursing home.

Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue,
but in deed and truth.
