The Beauty Beneath the Surface

There is much beauty on and even in our earth.  If you ever get the opportunity visit the Slot Canyons in the Southwestern part of the United States.

The landscape near Page, Arizona is rather barren.  It is mostly a semi arid region covered with very little vegetation.  There are places where the earth literally has cracks in it.  One of those cracks is the Lower Antelope Slot Canyon.  It is another example of God's beautiful earth.

To experience the slot canyon you must descend some 40 feet straight down into the depths of the earth.  There you walk along a winding narrow path through the most glorious "ditch" which has been formed in the rock by millions of years of water flowing through the ground.

The reds, yellows, pinks, purples, and greys of the stone are illuminated only by the sunlight wafting down through the slot above.  It is splendid indeed.

Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
Psalms 96:6
